Airtel launched its 5G services in India on Thursday. Airtel 5G in India is currently available in selected cities only and will be expanding to more cities in the future. Airtel 5G will offer speeds up to 20-30 times faster than 4G LTE, making it ideal for data-intensive applications such as HD video streaming, virtual reality gaming, and live video streaming. The current 5G available cities are Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, and Chennai.

To activate Airtel 5G on your smartphone, you’ll need to first ensure that your device is compatible with the Airtel 5G network. A list of compatible devices can be found on the Airtel website.
Once you’ve confirmed that your device is compatible, you can activate Airtel 5G on your smartphone from Settings, Mobile network, Preferred network type, and select 5G. That’s it. It doesn’t require you to change your entire Airtel sim to upgrade from 4G to 5G.
