You’re ready to go live once you reach the 1,000 subscribers goal and your setup is done. There are two ways to live stream on your mobile phone, one via the Youtube app and another using third-party software. Both methods work with iPhone and Android devices. Follow the given instructions step by step:

Using YouTube Official App:

Most smartphones already come with pre-installed YouTube, however, one can also install the app on his/her phone from Google Play Store.

  • Just open the Youtube app on your Android or iOS smartphone.
  • Tap on the Camcorder icon from the top.
  • Next, tap on GO LIVE button. Give it a better title name, description, and thumbnail. You can also add your privacy settings, such as enable or disable ads, live chat, age restrictions, and more.
  • Lastly, select Go Live to start streaming. (It will take a few seconds to stabilize your internet connection)
  • You can also stop streaming by clicking on Finish then, Ok button.

All you need is a webcam for video recording, a Mic for communication, and a fast internet connection. That’s it. However, laptop users have the option to either use an internal or external webcam or mic.

Once you get the required tools, it’s just a matter of time before you go live. Just make sure to follow the given instructions step by step:

  1. Just open Chrome or your internet browser on a desktop or laptop.
  2. Visit YouTube Official website.
  3. Click on the Camcorder icon from the top right corner on Youtube.
  4. Then, click on Go Live.
  5. Now you get two options: Right Now & Scedule Later. Just click Start under first option then click Go if you want to start streaming right away.
  6. Next, click Allow from the top left corner to give Camera and Mic permission.
  7. Enter stream title & description. You can also scroll down and select your stream category, thumbnail, target audience, and age resistriction.
  8. After that, click Next.
  9. On customization tab, you can click to enable or disable certain features you want, such as Live chat, Live chat replay, Participant modes and Message delay. Once done, click Next.
  10. In this tab, choose Public so everyone can watch your stream. You can scroll down and schedule your stream as well. Then, click Done.
  11. Lastly, click on GO LIVE to start streaming.
  12. If you want to end the stream, just click on red END STREAM option from the bottom of the screen.

2. From OBS studio app:

OBS Studio is one of the popular live streaming apps for gamers available on PC. There are so many professionals who also use OBS studio as their live streaming platform. OBS studio has the ability to record device screen at high quality and live into Youtube. Along with that, it includes powerful configuration options, streamlined setting panels, intuitive audio mixer, real-time audio and video capturing, etc.

Here’s how to use OBS Studio:

  1. Download and launch OBS Studio on your computer.
  2. When you first time launch OBS studio, an auto configuration wizard will popup.
  3. From Wizard, select “Optimize for streaming, recording is secondary” option. Then click Next.
  4. Add your video settings such as resolution and FPS. And, click Next.
  5. Now choose the service where you want to stream. In our case, it’s Youtube.
  6. You can either directly your Youtube account or use stream key. To make it easier and save your time, click on Connect Account (Recommended).
  7. OBS will redirect you to a web page. Login with your Youtube streaming Account and click Continue. It will tell you “Authorization completed successfully. You can now close this page.”
  8. Back to OBS, click Next. It will take a few seconds to connect OBS via Youtube server.
  9. Once done, click Apply Settings.
  10. Under sources, just add your input & output sources by clicking on Plus (+) icon. For instance, if you want to add a Mic for streaming, click on “+” icon > Audio Input Capture > Ok > Choose your Mic or leave Default > Ok. Now do the same thing for video output by clicking on “+” icon > Video Capture Device > click Ok > Choose your webcam > click Ok.
  11. Under Controls, click on Start Streaming Option from the bottom left then click on Manage Broadcast.
  12. Then, give it a better Title, Description, Thumbnail and Privacy settings. You can choose the Latency to Normal, Low or Ultra Low.
  13. Lastly, click on Create broadcast and start streaming from the bottom of the screen. Congratulation, you are live on Youtube.
  14. If you want to end the live stream, just click on Stop Streaming.
