1. Do A Quick Keyword Research at the Beginning of Article
For an SEO content writer, ‘Keyword’ is the most important factor to consider for ranking a blog post in search engines. Basically, Keywords are search queries done by internet users in search engines worldwide, for example, why SEO is important, best Google tricks, What is SEO, tips & tricks, etc. All keywords (or search queries) have different search volumes. And, Search Volume represents the number of how many times a particular keyword is searched in search engines. For instance, “What is SEO” is a keyword searched 18000 times in a month in the United States only according to Ubersuggest.

So, before writing an article, you should always choose a keyword having a high search volume. You can do that by doing just quick keyword research. Using free keyword research tools like Ubersuggest by Neil Patel, you can easily find a high-volume keyword for your niche article or install an SEO Google Chrome extension such as Keyword Surfer to check the search volume of all the keywords directly into the search engine.
How to Add Focus Keyword into your Blog Posts?

As we’ve explained above, now you must have an idea about what is Keyword and Search Volume in SEO. But, most importantly you should know using them in your blog posts or pages, known as Keyword optimization, which can be very hard to do. A good keyword-optimized article always has a higher chance to get rank on the first search engine result page.
Here’s a perfect rule you should follow for better keyword optimization:
You should never add tons of keywords on a single blog post, it ain’t gonna work. Always try to focus on the one keyword only at the beginning. Although, you can work with multiple keywords later. Before you begin the article, choose a high-volume search keyword with the help of keyword research tools and add your focus keyword 3-4 times in your article depending on how long your article is. Suppose if your article contains two thousand words or more you may consider adding your focus keyword a minimum four times. For an SEO-friendly article, adding keywords 3-4 times in a blog post is not enough.
These are some key terms consider while adding keywords on your blog post:*(i)Add Keyword in First Paragraph: The first paragraph directly reflects the content of your article to search bots (or Google bots). Along with that using keyword in the first paragraph let the search engine easily understand what’s the post all about.
*(ii) Keyword in Heading: Most importantly, don’t forget to add keyword higher headings or sub-headings like H2, H3 & post title since Google gives more priority to these headings than paragraph.
*(iii) Keyword in the URL bar: To increase the SEO of a blog post, must add keywords into your URL of a particular blog post.
*(iv) Keyword in Meta description: If you don’t know what is a meta description, you are missing one of the most important SEO rank factors. When you search a keyword like best internet tricks in search engines you may have seen written short excerpts or summaries below the title link.
As you can see in the above image. I’ve searched for ‘Best Internet Tricks‘ and it ranks top of other pages it’s not because of luck. He has optimized this best by adding keywords in the meta description, URL bar, & page title that directly reflect your content.
*Important Note*: Do not enforce yourself to add more than recommended keywords on your post they are not beneficial at all even you may receive a penalty of losing rank.
2. Improve Writing Skills
After keyword research, writing skills must be improved. Google monitors every mistake you have made in your published articles on your website including full stop, comma, grammatical error, etc.
Writing skills considered an important SEO factor. A badly written article can increase the bounce rate on your website and lower search ranks. The bounce rate should be always in the range of 26-40 percent . Bounce rate: is the amount of time spent by viewers on your website or a page. If viewers see lots of grammatical errors or find your article isn’t interesting they will leave your website very early. It causes a high bounce rate on your website which is not good for SEO. Thus, the rank of your pages will be degraded from SERP. In simple word, high bounce rate equal to a lower ranking.
To write an SEO-friendly article on WordPress or Blogger, you must improve your writing skills by using interacting & fun words. Write short paragraphs with the combination of bold or italic fonts to highlight the main keywords, so the viewers spend more time on your post and you can gain more returning visitors.
Extra note: For the grammatical error, I personally use Grammarly extension that checks all types of writing mistakes including forgotten full stop, comma, question marks, and spelling mistakes, etc, and also provide word suggestions as well. You can install the Grammarly extension on Google Chrome or any other browser that supports the extension.
3. Write Long Article With Every Small and Essential Detail
The long written articles always have higher chances to get ranked on the top list in the Google search result page, considering how well the article is optimized.
One of the best ways to write a long article is to divide the Article into headings. By writing the article in this manner you can archive maximum visitors’ engagement. They can navigate through these headings and read the part they need only. You may think this may increase the bounce rate, but it’s not. When visitors see a good article, he/she wants to explore it more and he will prefer your article listing among search result pages.
Tip: If you use the Blogger platform, use WordCounter to count the total words or length of the article and use i button for the WordPress users.Important Notes:
*(i) You can divide a long paragraph into several paragraphs to understand the article more clearly. The simple rule suggests a paragraph should not have more than 300 words which make the paragraph boring to your visitor. So, break one long paragraph into two or more.
*(ii) Not mandatory, but try to make sentences not too long. If you cannot spit a sentence then at least try to separate them using a comma, or full stop, or using transition words like as, well, so, however, moreover, etc.
*(iii) Do not use too many passive sentences according to the Yoast SEO plugin.
4. Use SEO Plugin to Optimize Content
Unfortunately, there’s no official plugin support for Blogger/Blogspot so if you’re specifically looking for SEO writing tips & tricks for the blogger you can skip this step and go for next. However, you can try these best SEO Extensions for Google Chrome.

5. Add Internal/External Links into Blog Posts
Internal/External links are necessary to make a bond between internal posts and gives you SEO benefit as well. When a Googlebot visits your website to crawl the page, it also crawl those linking pages and if the linking page provides good value to the visited page you can also rank your linking pages as well. Along with that, when you link one page to another, it makes internal backlinks and increases the page authority of the website.
Mainly there are two types of backlinks which I’ll explain in Full SEO Guide Tutorial 2020 but as of now, remember this –Always give nofollow link to external links and dofollow link to internal link. A dofollow backlinks have more value than nofollow backlinks. We offer you to become a writer or write a guest post for TechSettle.com and get dofollow backlink.
6. Use Compressed Images on your Posts
There are several benefits of using compressed images on your site. You can save your hosting storage resources and most importantly increase the speed of your website by using the compressed images. Check this searchengineland post to know more.
Using some image compressor websites but I use compressnow.com where you can compress any images from 0 to 100 level. Along with that, consider using Lazy Load for images to load only essential images of the website. Using any caching plugin, like W3 total cache, Autoptimize, WP super cache, you can easily enable lazy load for images.
7. Make URL Short & Remove Stop Words
Above I explained, how using focus keywords in URLs can boost SEO. In this section, we’ll discuss more on URLs.
URL plays an important role while sharing a post. You may not wanna share a link that looks very long containing stop words like full stop (.), comma (,), and other words that don’t reflect your content directly. Take this URL as an example ‘https://your-url.com/Top 30 Best SEO Tips & Tricks you must know to rank in Google’, it looks inconsistent and could be short without losing your keyword.
For example, if your blog title is ‘https://your-url.com/Top 30 Best SEO Tips & Tricks you must know to rank in Google‘ and focus keyword is ‘SEO tips & tricks‘ the URL must be like this ‘https://your-url.com/seo-tips-tricks‘ or ‘https://your-url.com/best-seo-tips-tricks‘. This let viewer & search understand quickly what the post all about.
Conclusion
If you follow these tips only while writing an SEO-friendly article for WordPress, Blogger or any other CMS, it increases the chance by 85% to rank your blog post in the first search engine result page.
Note: As a reminder, we offer you to write guest posts and dofollow backlink chances.
