Today, we will discuss about Always-On display and how to enable it on OnePlus smartphones.
What is Always-On Display?
Always-On Display (AOD) is one of the cool features for many smartphones including OnePlus. It is used to display date & time, and battery percentage on the smartphone lock screen in a very limited space. AOD feature is introduced for AMOLED display because of its property. It blinks only working pixels and keep rest of pixels turned off, which makes smartphone more battery efficient.

Enable Always-On Display in OnePlus 8 / Pro
OnePlus officially has launched a new feature for Always-On display with Oxygen OS 11 update. This (AOD) feature lets you choose various clock styles. Along with time & date, it shows pending notifications, battery stats, etc. OnePlus has promised that there will be a new clock style updated in every 24 hours.
Follow the given steps to enable AOD in OnePlus 8 or OnePlus 8 Pro:
- Go to device Settings
- Select Display option
- Tap on Ambient Screen
- Choose Always-On Display and turn the feature on.
You get three options inside AOD settings in OnePlus: Off, All Day and Schedule. Off will turn off the feature, all day enables the feature, and schedule the timer to turn on the feature on a specific time.
Enable Always-On Display on Other Devices
Now it seems any Android user can enjoy AOD feature although I recommends to use if your smartphone has a AMOLED display. Using Oxygen AOD Mod Android app, you can turn on this feature on any smartphone. Simply download the app from the play store and install on your Android then open it, configure it and run it. It includes some addition features such as double or single tap to turn the screen on, etc.
