WhatsApp Web is another way to use WhatsApp on the desktop & iPad. Using WhatsApp web. You can access your WhatsApp account through the Chrome browser or any other browser by scanning the QR code from your smartphone. You can send/receive messages, send media files, change your DP & status, etc like you do on your smartphone’s WhatsApp.
Here’s how to use WhatsApp web on your computer or iPad
- Go to WhatsApp web official website and make sure you see the QR code
- Then open WhatsApp on your smartphone
- Tap three-dots
- Select WhatsApp Web
- Scan “QR code” using the rear camera
That’s it. Now you have successfully logged in on your computer or iPad. By default, WhatsApp Web uses a white background theme with no theme customization option.

Still, there’s no official way to use dark mode on WhatsApp web, however, there are two unofficial easy tricks to do this. Here’s what you have to do:
- First, log in to WhatsApp Web from the official website using the QR code
- Once logged in, right-click on WhatsApp Web page and click inspect or press Ctrl+Shift+I from the keyboard
- Press Ctrl+F and search body class=”web” or simply search for “web” with quotes
- Now you will see line like this <body class=”web” data-gr-c-s-loaded=”true” web=””>
- Right-click on the line and choose Edit as HTML
- Then change it to <body class=”dark web”. Now it should look like <body class=”dark web” data-gr-c-s-loaded=”true” web=””>
- Now hit enter or click anywhere else to save the changes.
Many Mac users did not find this line, that’s because many browsers such as safari for Mac render a different line body class=”web text-rendering-bug-fix”. Now you need to Change it to body class=”dark web text-rendering-bug-fix” to get the dark mode.
